INFANT AQUATICS Programs

Survival swimming skills results in weeks
Students as young as 6 months are taught to roll over into a floating position and cry for help

For Infants: 6mo-12mo that are rolling over independently and/or crawling (not independently walking yet).
Essential skill taught: FLOATING
This class teaches infants six to twelve months to roll over from a face down or submerged position onto their backs to relax and breathe, while fully clothed.
We recommend this class to be taken in preparation for the Otter class.
Students that take this class in preparation for the Otter class are likely to master the swim-float-swim sequence far quicker because they will only need to learn one part of the sequence in the next level class.
Upon taking this class we highly encourage students to join the Floating Guppies group class ($35 for 1x a week) to maintain and improve their skills.

For Toddlers: 15mo-4yrs that are walking independently.
Essential skills taught: SWIM-FLOAT-SWIM
This program teaches toddlers and younger children (fifteen months to four years old) the swim-float-swim sequence.
Children will learn to swim a short distance with their face fully submerged, to roll onto their back to float and rest whenever they need to breathe, and to flip back onto their tummy to continue to swim to safety while fully clothed.
Though it is highly recommended that swimmers take the Guppy class while they are at the crawling stage it is NOT required.
Upon taking this class we highly encourage students to join the Swimming Otters 1, 2, or 3 group class ($35 for 1x a week) to maintain and improve their skills.
When students are old enough and developmentally ready, they may join the Starfish Stroke School to develop proper stroke technique and build deeper water confidence levels.

For Toddlers: 5yrs-6yrs
Essential skills taught: SWIM-FLOAT-SWIM
This program is for five and six year olds. Since older children have more stamina and longer attention spans, their private one-on-one lessons are 20 minutes long.
Children will learn to perform the swim-float-swim sequence in deeper water for 30-50 feet in preparation for the Starfish Stroke School.
They will be able to perform all of their skills while fully clothed.
We highly recommend that upon graduating from the Dolphin class swimmers enroll in the the Starfish Stroke School as it is a great way to expand their safety skills, learn underwater skills, and maintain all they’ve learned. It is 1x a week lesson and at a much more affordable rate.
